The scent
When you think about Holland, you think about windmills. Which is quite obvious since most of the Dutch landscape was created using windmills. Our soil nor our wealth would not have been as prosperous had we not once had over 10.000 of those beautiful mills working our land. Unfortunately currently only 1200 windmills remain.
We cherish the craft of the Dutch miller and so we’ve created a fragrance of the beautiful mix of scents from spices which used to be ground by our windmills.
The main ingredients are clove, cinnamon and pepper. And even we did not think these would bond together so well. You will also experience notes of bergamot, vetiver, saffron, tobacco and leather, which results in this dashing and spicy fragrance.
Want to try this scent first? You can order separate samples of our perfumes, or you can get them all with our Sample Kit.
This 100ML reed diffuser will steadily spread the perfume in your home. Place the reeds in the bottle so that the bottom of the sticks are submerged in the fragrance oil.
Give your reeds a few minutes to absorb the oil, then carefully flip them so that the dry end of the stick is in the bottle and the saturated end is in the air. Spread your reeds out as much as possible to let air circulate between them. Allow up to 24 hours for the fragrance to fully diffuse. Flip the reeds periodically (around once a week) to keep the scent strong. After setting it up, this reed diffuser will typically last between 1 to 6 months, depending on the size of the room and the amount of ventilation.
Scent story
Windmills are many tourists' main reason to visit the Netherlands. Its majestic appearance and stories obviously make people want to visit them, and to take part of it home. Which up 'till now was impossible. That is why we developed our MILLS perfume. We wanted people to be able to bring home part of the windmills: Their scent.
Old, Dutch windmills have a wonderful smell.
Imagine old wood like oak, douglas and cedar. Combined with the smell of jute bags filled with whole and ground spices like clove, nutmeg, pepper, pimento and cinnamon, which used to be ground in these mills. Topped off with some tobacco from the millers' smoking pipe.
And there you go: MILLS.
